Any explicit piece of equipment will frequently comprise a number of constructing blocks and so may perform a quantity of features. With packets, the bandwidth of the transmission medium can be higher shared among customers than if the network have been circuit switched. When one person isn’t sending packets, the link could be full of packets from other users, and so the cost can be shared, with comparatively little interference, supplied the hyperlink is not overused. Often the route a packet must take through a network is not instantly available. In that case, the packet is queued and waits till a link is free.
